  2. Day 2 Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1460m) with the time of 7-8 hours, offering breathtaking views of rivers, fields, villages, and snow-capped mountains on the way. As you ascend toward Dhunche alongside the Trishuli River, you may catch glimpses of majestic peaks like Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and many more. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, take some time to explore the charming town before settling into a cozy teahouse for the night. These teahouses, a common feature along Nepal’s trekking routes, provide simple yet delicious meals and a comfortable place to rest, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience after each day’s adventure.

  3. Day 3 Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

After enjoying breakfast in Syabrubesi, your journey to Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek begins. The trek starts with a hike toward the source of the Bhote Koshi River, which originates in Tibet. Following the trail, you will reach Guru Rinpoche Gomba, where you can pause to offer prayers for a safe and successful journey. From there, you will follow the stone-paved path leading out of town, descending towards the Langtang Khola. Shortly after, you will cross a suspension bridge before gradually ascending to Bamboo.

This pleasing location, set within a deep valley, features several guesthouses near the river, offering a peaceful resting spot. As you continue, the trail takes you through a lush subtropical forest filled with oak, maple, fir, rhododendron, blue pine, and tall spruce trees. Along the way, you may spot diverse wildlife, including langurs, red pandas, yellow-throated martens, and Himalayan black bears. With a steady uphill climb, you will eventually reach the Lama Hotel (2460m), a small riverside settlement known for its comfortable lodges. Surrounded by dense greenery, this tranquil stop is a popular resting point for trekkers seeking relaxation before continuing their journey. The time for this journey is of 6-7 hours.

  4. Day 4 Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

The trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3450m) is a delightful experience. You’ll start your day early, prepare for the hike, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and then begin your journey with a gradual ascent that becomes steeper as you progress. Walking alongside the Langtang Khola, you’ll pass through lush forests of oak, maple, vibrant rhododendrons, and hemlock. As you move forward, the snow-capped peaks, including the majestic Mt. Langtang, will come into clearer view, adding to the awe-inspiring scenery.

Continuing along the trail, you’ll cross Ghodatabela and a wooden bridge before reaching the Tamang village. The path will lead you past yak pastures, a helipad, and through rhododendron woods. The village itself is an attractive settlement with traditional Tibetan-style homes featuring flat roofs and with carved wooden windows. Surrounded by stone walls, the fields here are cultivated with crops like turnips, potatoes, and barley, offering a glimpse into the daily life of the local community. The whole day takes 6-7 hours of trek.

If you prefer a less demanding option, consider trekking to Kyanjin Ri (4773 m). While the ascent is shorter, it still provides a challenging and rewarding experience. From Kyanjin Ri, you’ll enjoy equally stunning panoramic views of snow-dusted mountains, vast valleys, and icy lakes. Whichever route you choose—Tserko Ri or Kyanjin Ri—you’ll be treated to unforgettable sights of the majestic Himalayas. After your adventure, return to your guesthouse in Kyanjin Gompa for a restful evening and a peaceful night’s stay.

  7. Day 7 Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

Today’s leg of the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Trek will be longer than previous days. It will take maximum of 5-6 hours. Before beginning your journey, enjoy breakfast while soaking in the stunning views of the snow-covered peaks. The return trek will retrace the same path alongside the Langtang River.

Your route will take you through famous yak herding villages and expansive alpine meadows as you make your way to Langtang village. From there, continue onward and take a right turn toward Ghodatabela. Afterward, you’ll descend quickly to the Lama Hotel, where you’ll check in at its well-known teahouse. Take some time to relax and appreciate the sight of pine trees and rhododendrons swaying gently in the mountain breeze.

As you trek, you’ll walk through lush forests of birch, oak, pine, bamboo, and rhododendron, which are habitats for wildlife such as wild boars and monkeys. Along the way, you’ll also be treated to breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal.

After a few more hours of trekking and crossing a suspension bridge, you’ll arrive at your destination for the day: Thulo Syabru. It will take the time of 6-7 hours. Despite its small size and modest population, Thulo Syabru offers plenty to explore, and you can easily spend a few hours wandering through its picturesque streets and soaking in its unique atmosphere.

  11. Day 11 Gosainkunda to Ghopte

Today’s journey takes you through the scenic Helambu region via the Laurebina La High Pass. The trek will be the longest of about 7-8 hours. The trek begins with a descent from the lodges near Gosainkunda Lake. As you approach the Laurebina La Cross, the trail along the northwest side becomes steeper and more challenging. Before reaching the pass, you’ll pass by three or more small lakes. The Laurebina La Pass is marked by a stone stupa and colorful prayer flags, making it a significant and spiritual highlight of the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake Trek.

After crossing the pass, you’ll descend into a broad valley, heading toward Phedi. From there, the trail becomes steeper and rockier as you continue your journey. You’ll cross a footbridge over a stream and then follow a demanding path that leads to Surya Kunda, a stunning lake. 12. Day 12 Ghopte to Kutumsang

After breakfast in Ghopte, your journey on the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Trek (6-7 hours) continues as you traverse a remote, uninhabited area filled with juniper, rhododendron, and pine forests. This peaceful path eventually leads you to the tranquil highland setting of Thadepati. Here, you’ll encounter the Helambu Circuit Trek route, which you can explore if you have additional time. From Thadepati, the trail gradually descends along the western ridge slope, winding through dense forests.

As you trek further, you’ll come across a large meadow featuring the remains of an old shepherd’s cottage. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the Gangchempo and Dorje Lakpa peaks.
