Best Season to trek for Everest Three High Passes Trek
The best times for the Everest Three High Passes Trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (mid-September to November). During these seasons, the weather is dry and clear, perfect for trekking with stunning mountain views. Days are warm, while nights are cool. However, these are peak seasons, so trails can be crowded.
In spring, the trails bloom with wildflowers, especially rhododendrons. It’s also Everest climbing season, so Base Camp buzzes with climbers and Sherpas. Autumn offers crystal-clear skies after the monsoon, making it ideal for panoramic mountain vistas.
Food/Meals During the Trek
Avoid non-vegetarian food and alcohol (beer, wine, etc.) at high altitudes. Tea houses serve a variety of meals:
-
Breakfast: Eggs (fried, boiled, scrambled), toast, pancakes, porridge, muesli, Tibetan bread, chapati, oatmeal, and hot drinks.
-
Lunch: Sandwiches, pizza, rice with curry, momos (dumplings), noodles (thukpa), pasta, soups, yak steak, and desserts.
-
Dinner: Similar to lunch, with dal bhat (Nepali staple), Sherpa stew, noodles, and hot/cold drinks.
Accommodation
Tea houses provide basic rooms with 2-3 single beds, warm blankets, and shared bathrooms (sometimes private). Solo female trekkers get private rooms at no extra cost. We ensure the best tea houses with mountain views.
